Finally, we’ve just about made it to the much-anticipated matchup between Army and Michigan. The million-dollar question is “Can Michigan stop the option?” If they can, Army will lose. If they can’t, the Black Knights likely will win. Michigan last played on option team in 2017 when they hosted Air Force and won 29-13. Air Force, which went 5-7 that season, gained 232 total yards offense which included 168 rushing yards. The Falcons completed just one pass. I believe this Army team is much better than that 2017 Air Force team and has a better passing threat than that Air Force team. Defensively for Army, it’s going to be tough. Much bigger Michigan is going to line up and attempt to bash their way to the end zone. This is where the option comes in handy by burning up clock and keeping the defense off the field and wearing out the opponent’s defense. I project Army to win this game.
