Challenges for Army

In 2011 Army fell at Miami (Ohio) 35-28. The Black Knights’ nation would like to think that the days of losing to MAC teams are over but this RedHawk team seems pretty decent. Miami (Ohio) has a reputation for shocking power conference teams throughout its history. Certainly they likely see Army as an opportunity to add to their list of power conference scalps. Coaches like Paul Brown, Bo Schembechler, Ara Parseghian, and Woody Hayes all earned their stripes at Miami. As did a quarterback named Ben Roethlisberger. Army can’t afford to sleep on the RedHawks. On the field, QB Gus Ragland has completed 130 of 211 passes for 1,440 yards, 10 TDs and just 3 interceptions. Running back Alonzo Smith is the RedHawk’s top rusher, averaging 49 yards per game with two TDs so far this season. Junior nose tackle Doug Costin has 26 tackles including 7 1/2 tackles for losses and four sacks.

Saturday’s game kicks off at Noon ET and can be seen on the CBS Sports Network.
